This item dates from the early part of the 20th. Century and has the robust lustre of old teak. It is approximately 80" tall and 48" wide and 20" deep. $2200. |

Although there is no standard size, cabinets tend to be shallow from front to back with most ranging from 14" to 19". The overhanging cornice and mortise and tenon construction reflect the style of 17th. Century Holland,and it was continued on into the 20th. Century. Surface carving is a typical Javanese feature. With Independence and Dutch expulsion in the 1940's many of these cabinets were destroyed as they were deemed to reflect the Colonial past. Those that survived frequently have some partial restoration. Where occurring, this fact is carefully noted. 41" wide by 19" deep by 61" high. $1200 |
